2024 Coomera Summer Challenger

A 5-round classical Swiss tournament to start off 2024! 

ACF and QJ rated.

Eligibility:

2024 CAQ membership is required.

GCCC Members $25 (Discount Applied at Checkout Automatically if Logged In)

Non-Members $50

Time control:

60 minutes + 10 seconds increment from move 1

Schedule:

Round 1 6:45 pm Tuesday 20 Feb

Round 2 6:45 pm Friday 27 Feb

Round 3 6:45 pm Friday 5 March

Round 4 6:45 pm Friday 12 Mar

Round 5 6:45 pm Friday 19 Mar

Pairing System:

Vega using Swiss Dutch FIDE JaVaFo

Tie Break:

1.Buchholz Cut 1;

2.Buchholz;

3.Cumulative.

In case of a tie, the Tournament title will be decided on tie-break but all prize money for placings will be evenly split.

Forfeiture time:

30 minutes from advertised start time.

Byes:

Half Point Byes: A maximum of two half point byes only will be permitted for rounds 1 to 4.

Provisional Pairings will not be published. Arbiter must be informed  by Monday, 5 pm if you require a bye for the following round.

Prizes:

Modest prize pool based on the amount of entries

In the case of a tie prize money will be shared.  Players are eligible for 1 prize only and will be awarded the larger prize.

Arbiters:

The  Coomera Summer Challenger will be conducted as a player arbiter event.
