Comon Professionals and the Gold Coast Chess Club cordially invites you to our 3rd annual event to commemorate the life and chess of WIM Arianne Caoili, who began her chess journey at Somerset College and tragically passed away in 2020 in her prime.
A Comon Professionals Sponsored 6-round Swiss tournament.

IMPORTANT: All Queensland players and those that live within 100km of the border must hold current CAQ membership to register for the event. Currently 1 year CAQ is $20. This can be purchased on the day at registration or in advance online.

Time control: 60 minutes + 20 seconds increment from move 1
Pairing System: Vega using Swiss Dutch FIDE JaVaFo
Tie Break: 1.Buchholz Cut 1; 2.Buchholz; 3.Direct Encounter.

Sunday, 3rd September
Round 4 @ 9:00am
Round 5 @ 12:00pm
Round 6 @ 3:00pm
Presentations: Approximately 6:00 pm
Forfeiture time: 30 minutes from start time.
Half Point Byes: A maximum of two half point byes only will be permitted for rounds 1 to 4. Arbiter to be notified 1 round in advance.
Byes for round 1 must be notified before 8:00pm, September 1st.

Prizes: Open 1st $1500, 2nd $750, 3rd $500, 4th $250, 5th $100
Female 1st $500, 2nd $200, 3rd $100 5 Rating Group Prizes of $200 and Best Senior Over 65 prize of $100
In case of a tie, the Tournament title will be decided on tie-break but all prize money for placings will be evenly split. Players may win one prize only, the highest prize they are eligible for.
