Coomera Halloween Rapid

7-round Swiss tournament. (QJ Rated)

In the northern suburbs of the Northern Gold Coast.

The tournament will be open to adult and juniors.

There will be 2 separate divisions  - Open and Under 800QJ.

Unrated players are welcome.

Children with a Queensland Junior rating under 800 may play in the Open tournament. 

Supervision of children outside of the playing hall is solely the responsibility of the parent or caregiver, not the Arbiter or Organiser of the tournament.

Total Prize Pool: $1050

Prizes: 1st $300, 2nd $200 3rd $100

3 x Rating Group $150

Juniors Under 800 QJ – Trophies 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Under 8s - Trophies Champion and Runner-Up

Entry Fee:

$50 (GCCC Members $40)

Time control: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move 1

Pairing System:

Swiss Perfect

Tie Break:

1.Median Buchholz; 2.Buchholz; 3.Progressive.

Schedule:

Registration: Saturday 10:30-11:00

Round 1 @ 11:00 am Rounds 2-7 will commence once all players are complete their rounds.

Presentations: Approximately 5 pm

Forfeiture time:

15 minutes from start time.

Half Point Byes:

A maximum of two half point byes only will be permitted for rounds 1 to 5

DOP/Arbiters – Mathew Smith NA and Marek Breeden NA 

In case of a tie, the Tournament title will be decided on tie-break but all prize money for placings will be evenly split.
