About the event
The Gold Coast Chess Club is bringing competitive tournament chess to TableTopCon '26 with a live Exhibition Blitz Tournament held directly on the convention floor at the Carrara Sports & Leisure Centre. This event is a genuine competitive blitz tournament for club members and visiting players while also serving as a live showcase of modern over-the-board chess for convention attendees and tabletop gaming enthusiasts.
Players will compete in a fast-paced Blitz tournament under a 3 minute + 2 second increment time control, creating an exciting and highly spectator-friendly atmosphere as players battle under severe clock pressure in front of a live audience.
The event is designed both as a serious competitive tournament and as an opportunity to showcase the energy and excitement of tournament chess to the wider tabletop gaming community.
