On Friday, 22 August 2025, the Gold Coast Chess Club proudly hosted the Arianne Caoili Memorial Blitz Tournament, the first event of a special weekend celebrating Arianne’s enduring legacy in Australian chess.
The Arianne Caoili Memorial Weekend kicked off with a Special Guest Lecture – FM Jack Rogers immediately before the Blitz on Friday night
The evening brought together a strong field of players, including grandmasters, seasoned competitors, and emerging talents. With a lightning-fast 3 minutes + 2 seconds time control across nine Swiss rounds, every game was a battle of calculation, intuition, and nerve.
