2025 Gold Coast Club Championship — Official Prize Winners

Dates: 25 July – 12 September 2025 • Format: 7 rounds, single section (26 players)

A fast take:The title hinged on a Round 5 showdown—Jonah Awad beat Adam Vagg and never looked back, closing with a solid draw to finish undefeated on 6.0/7. Adam held second on 5.5/7 after a strong recovery, and Oscar Credland-Ballantyne sealed third with a final-round win.

Standout moments

• Undefeated steel: Michael Goodman (+2 =5) drew the champion in the finale and didn’t drop a game.

• Unrated breakout: Darwin Huang (4.5/7) surged late with wins over Marek Breeden and Orsen Van Der Byl to claim the Unrated prize.

• Group grit: Peter Lucas stitched together clutch wins to top Group A; Lyndon Cerfonteyn took Group B after a steady middle-round push.
