With today's draw on board 1 between Marek and Daniel the Burleigh Autumn Cup is now tighter at the top. Chess magician Marek has the sole lead still with 4.5/5 with a group of four players on 4/5, three of which are yet to play Marek, Adam Vagg, Jeremy Renkin and Steven Quick. There were a few upsets amongst the lower boards this round. Most notably, Eden Skinner won his game against Justin Tong, which highlight's Eden's great progress this year.
Board 1 was rescheduled for play this morning and Marek and Daniel broke the school rules (no hat no play) and drew - rebels.
With only two rounds left it's a great time to register for our upcoming 1 night events in Burleigh, such as the fun June Combo Rapid and Blitz night Friday, June 23rd or the June Blitz night in Friday, June 30th.
