🏆 Coomera Novice Night – 15 July 2025
The Coomera Novice Tournament returned on Tuesday 15 July, welcoming new and improving players to an evening of friendly and competitive chess at the Gold Coast Chess Club – Upper Coomera Centre.
This event was designed for unrated players and juniors rated under 1000 ACF/QJ, giving them a chance to experience tournament play in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Players of all ages came ready to test their skills and meet fellow chess enthusiasts. Many were playing in their very first official tournament!

2nd Place – Ilya Filnykh Score: 4/5 $20
3rd Place – Lyndon Cerfonteyn Score: 4/5 $20
Top 3 Players came equal First Place. Medals 1st -3rd place were awarded on Countback (prize money shared)
